The Many Moods of Marco Polo (Vol. 1) was born from the creative energy of sessions made during the era of working alongside DJ Premier for Nas' "Light Years", a period rooted in precision, soul and intention. What started as compositions inspired by that time (cinematic loops, dusty textures, melodic ideas built for heavyweight lyricism) evolved into something bigger. A full universe. A complete body of work.
DJ Premier sampled my compositions on four tracks of Nas' "Light Years" (2025): "My Life Is Real", "Writers", "Sons (Young Kings)" and "My Story Your Story" feat. AZ.
From soulful piano passages to dark orchestral moods, warm analog synth textures to stripped-down drumless pieces, each track is a different emotional state: reflective, triumphant, paranoid, romantic, focused, restless. Music inspired by legends, lived through my lens.
This is for producers looking to flip something meaningful, artists searching for emotion, film and TV supervisors hunting atmosphere, and fans who appreciate texture over trend.
